so....

Got my scrap on...
I'm *kind of* feeling the creative-ness come back which is awesome. I think I've figured it out though. It seems like when I'm stressed out, when I know I have a lot of stuff I need to do, I can't relax...and it takes a major toll on my scrapbooking. It sucks though because there are times when I REALLY want to dig into my stuff but nothing I make seems to follow my "vision" ya know? So, even though I'm stressin I'm starting to feel the groove again ;)

This one uses all brand spanking new Prima goods like the patterned papers, flowers, and fancy ribbon.

Made this one from the www.scrapinstyletv.com new Style Phyle collection...except it's sold out already ;( but there will be a new one for next month!

This one is a mix of the sold out Style Phyle and new Prima goods (yes I've been attacking this new stuff like nobody's business!).

And......yes.
more style phyle business lol.

Bought this gorgeous watch...but I have to get some links taken out

been up to more photography, and more editing

So the new job. I'm still hanging out in the military for now. I have to get a bunch of tasks completed before I get out, but looks like my official last day will be the 16th of April. I have vacation saved up so *really* my last day should be the 24th of March, and I'll most likely begin my new job on the 1st of May. I'll be moving closer to my famiIy...about a two hour move from where I'm at now. Where exactly??--I have. no. idea. but I'll be doing the move when I take my vacation.
But tell me this isn't totally meant to be.
Not only is my new job something I LOVE doing, and am fully capable of doing,
but it's also with a really fun and exciting manufacturer!
and get this.

Not only are they located in California,
but they are located about 20 minutes from my families house!
so yah I'm totally excited about it ;)
and I'm not really sure if I'm even supposed to tell anyone who it is so I'll keep it under wraps for now.

And the beastly spider that dwells in my couch...kind of funny story. So I was watching a movie a few weeks ago chowing down on some tostido chips when I feel a little tickle on my shoulder. I look and go to scratch and there is this HAAAUUUGE spider just chillen on my arm. I mean this thing was so big you could practically see it's eyeballs staring me down. I'm. really. not. kidding.
So naturally I freak out and jump off the couch "swooshing" it off of me and I didn't know where it went and I was so freaked out that theres a possibility this thing crawled under my clothes...that I

proceeded to completely strip down to my birthday suit. And when I did this...I didn't do it in a rational way...it was more like ripping all of it off while jumping and swooshing. (jumping because it might have fell onto the floor).
I have issues--I know.

So then when I regain my composer and see the situation at hand like a rational person I decide to clothe myself again. But there's a problem now. Said spider is MIA. For all I know, it might have jumped off of me while I was doing my little dance and crawled into my bag of chips...or right back into the couch. {shudder}. Thoughts start rolling in...like will I ever be able to sit on that couch knowing this beast spider dwells in it?? Well the other day I came home and before I sat on my couch I noticed some odd looking "threads" on my fleece blanket (that I covered my couch with so that the spider can't crawl through the cushions and get me--again, I have issues lol), and when I take a closer look I realize those aren't threads at all. Those my friend....are spider legs. Spider legs...but no spider. Interesting. I look to my left and see Bruiser and put two and two together. I think Bruiser decided to have a little snack ;)

Now lets just hope that there isn't a family hiding out in my couch. Lets hope my couch served as a bachelor pad :)

In any case I'll be moving soon so it's no big thing but dang. That thing lasted over 3 weeks!

dude.

Where did Adrienne go???????

Well.
She almost went insane.
She almost fell asleep on the couch where the forbidden beast spider dwells.

She found a job...errr a job found her lol.
She's been up to a LOT of stuff.

and she's right ----->here<----- but too tired to do a "real" post right now, so she just wanted to update her peoples that there's a big post in store for tomorrow.

chunky stuff

So the other day I was browsing some Juicy Couture goods. Just looking at some of the newer handbags (like I could afford it! LOL) but came across some of their jewelry and I almost
*almost*
bought a super cute bracelet.
I thought about it for a second and told myself that I should go to Michaels and try making one myself because 1--it might end up being cheaper and 2--I can make it exactly how I want it.
So thats just what I did and I'm SO happy because not only did I make a bracelet, but I also made a couple multi-purpose pieces that could be used for a purse decoration, or can be clipped onto your jeans/belt. They are chunky, and dangly and totally remind me of the Juicy Couture style.

This one can either be a purse decoration, bracelet, or key chain :)

I'm so happy with them! :) And I'll be keeping these but I'm definitely making more to put in my Etsy shop.

Also I'm in that dreaded mode where I feel I lost my creativity lately. I scrapbooked like 6 pages and I don't even want to post them online they are so bad haha. Went straight into the albums they did :)

So...instead I made this today with some of the new silk Prima flowers:

Just took a styrofoam ball and stuck the flowers onto the ball from brads. It was super simple and took about 15 minutes! :)

Leaving for LA to visit family today...I'll be back Monday :)

it's official

I'm gonna make a really long...REALLY long story short ;)
I'm getting booted from the military...for being 4% over in body fat count. Hilarious considering I do better on my fitness test (run, sit ups etc) then some of the "healthy" people lol. But nonetheless I have no control over the regulations. I was just given
the paperwork yesterday which makes it official. I'm still in the military right now...I'll probably still be in for a month or two but it's inevitable that I'm getting out. I keep all my benefits and even get severance pay so I'm not freaking out or anything but I have to admit a little scared for the transition. I know God will guide me in the right direction though. In the meantime I plan to do online courses, and I'm looking into teaching, and or working part time at a scrapbook store. Also planning on teaching some online scrapbook courses since thats fun for me and can help financially :)
So anyways, thats the big news around here...
also took these pictures the other day over at Balboa Park:

And wanted to share this layout that I originally made for my book: "The Doodle Formula" that was a reject and didn't make it inside hehe.

and this one that DID make it in...it's my favorite :)
and yes...it's all pics of sweet Celine N. (shout out to you girl! hehe).

and lastly...
I made this mini album cover for a little project I want to do...an "all about me at 26" album. I know...they are so cliche but I've never done one of these and I want to remember all the experiences, feelings, aggrivations, dreams that I had when I'm old and gray :)

You see the flowers and the lacy ribbon?--they are the brand spankin new "Belle Fleur" line from Prima and you will flip when you see these in person! I also used some patterned papers, and the awesome Board Book by Urban Lily from the Urban Cut line, and the chipboard letters are from Prima Marketing as well.

new blog

There's a new blog in the blogoshphere!! My sweet little cousins!

First of all...I CANNOT even believe that she is at that "liking boys" stage already! She's totally diggin this German band Toykio Hotel and she loves the band so much that she actually dedicated a blog to them! And I have to admit I am so impressed that she knows how to embed html for videos and stuff! geeez. Hard to believe how smart kids nowadays are!
So anyways, if you have some free time I know she would love it if you stopped by and left a comment :D
Here's the blog:

I got a CD full of pictures in the mail the other day from sweet Corinne D. from back when I went there to teach the workshops with her :) These two pics were some of my fave

Some news with Prima...
If you head on over to the Prima blog you will see tons of sneak peeks (updated daily), new dt layouts, and info about CHA.
www.prima.typepad.com :)

Been getting more emails about how people can buy my book internationally. I've updated the "find my book here" list on the right to answer some questions.
The artistic Edge class is going really well. Better than I hoped for! Here's what some of the "students" have to say so far:

It is 2 am and i am so sucked in to editing right now. Amazing! I thought i knew what i was doing before... but i have already learned so much. Seriously!

Is this your first time doing tutorials like this? Because it is so simple and easy to follow along. Normally i glaze over with techie stuff... honestly Adrienne, i am so glad i joined your class. can't wait for more. thank you so much. i can totally tell you have worked hard and have put your heart into this.
love, nikki

Adrienne--
Just wanted to tell you how much I am loving the class, and learning so much.  I have been working with adobe for about 3 years, and a lot of these things I have seen in the program, but never really knew how to use.  Now I do.
Thanks again for developing such a fun class.

so if you're looking into learning more editing techniques the next class will begin on March 5th and you can find registrations in my Etsy shop (linking in the right sidebar).

never again

Tax season.
Love it. I usually get a decent refund and for the past 6 years I've prepared my taxes through H&R block. Never really had any problems.

Until now. H&R Block said it would take 8-15 days before I get my refund on the credit card they gave me. I filed my taxes on the 18th of January. So...according to what they advertise I will have my refund by the second of January.

Was it there yesterday? nope. So naturally I go to the IRS website to see if there were any complications. Apparently the IRS states that they already deposited my refund (get this)
on the 1st of January!
But it is not reflected on this H&R Block credit card.
AND H&R block promised me to have the funds within 15 days.
hmmm.

I think...well I'll check the online credit card service. and I can't log in to save my LIFE. I try everything. What POOR service this is...I can't even log into my card account? So I email them telling them they need to fix the website and I'm not even going to get into that story (too long)...but lets just say it left a bitter taste in my mouth..really bitter.

So again naturally I call the H&R Block customer service line. They tell me there's a 30 minute wait. 30 minutes?? oh come ON. I mean i know they are busy but if you are making your customers wait 30 minutes I think it's time to hire more people!!!

So. I do it. Fortunately I only had to wait 25 minutes (LOL). Then I realize as I'm telling the "representative" my info that I'm not even talking to a real person...it's a DANG computer I'm talking to. I don't like that. When I wait 30 minutes on a phone you better believe I want to talk to a real person. ugh.

I tell mr. roboto my issues and he tells me that another department is handling my account. Another department? what? And just as he said that I think "ohhhh no no no noooooooo don't put me on hold AGAIN"...and before I had a chance to finish up that thought I heard the ringing of elevator music on the phone. again. I'm on hold.

I think...ok. it's cool. I'm cool. It will probably only be a couple minute wait. I'm SURE they aren't going to make me wait another 30 minutes. Like I'm trying to convince myself that it's not really happening :)

20 minutes later...almost an hour phone call of speaking to a computer for um. 2 minutes I get so intensely irritated that I hang up. I figure...you know what it will probably be there tomorrow.

And it wasn't. And then I tell myself...you know what it will probably be there on Monday since banks aren't open on sunday. I decide to call again today JUST to be sure. JUST to get a solid answer. JUST to let them know I'm here and I'm not happy.
So when I finally get to talk to the robot again I tell him I called the other day and spent nearly an hour on the phone for 2 minutes of robot speak that didn't even give me a hint of what is going on.

MIRACULOUSLY a REAL person gets on the line after I say this. wow...a REAL person??? So I tell him whats going on...I'm talking really fast too because who knows when he will decide to switch the robot back on. lol. Paranoid lol. He tells me that they had some issues with refunds because there were so many. ok really???? what?? give me a break man. This is what you DO. You're H&R block. You don't make towels...your only JOB is to prepare taxes and issue refunds. You're telling me you can't even handle THAT? The one thing that you are meant to do???

He tells me that my refund should show up in my credit card today by 9pm. But when he tells me this...he kind of sounds unsure of himself. that bothers me. So I restate what he just told me and he confirms. So then I ask him for his ID number, name, and extension for future referance. Caught him off guard I did! Kind of stuttered a bit but gave me the information, then I ask again...ok so it will be there by 9pm tonight??? hahha---and he says yeah or tomorrow.
Or tomorrow???

interesting. Interesting how that changed from def. today to possibly tomorrow after I asked for your rep. info! So, I will wait today. I'm not happy.
Mainly I'm not happy because of the customer service.
Not really because of the money being delayed but just the POOR customer service...BOTH online and through the phone lines.

So...H&R Block-->never again.
never again.
I'd rather wait 6 months for my refund than feed them ANY of my money.
And, if you look up complaints on them...you will see A LOT. So if you're thinking of going to H&R Block...think twice about it...check out the complaints. Chances are...you probably won't run into a problem with them...but for the select few that DO run into a problem you're in for a long ride with their customer service.

that is all.
I'm done. :)

Not much else. I just have to mention though...i HAVE been scrapbooking. I know I haven't uploaded anything in forever, but I've done about 7 pages in the past couple of weeks, its just that I can't show anyone.  Either today or tomorrow I'm gonna scrap some more...just got some Prima goods in the mail last night so you know...I'm like a kid...I have to rip into everything. :)
