I'm gonna make a really long...REALLY long story short ;)
I'm getting booted from the military...for being 4% over in body fat count. Hilarious considering I do better on my fitness test (run, sit ups etc) then some of the "healthy" people lol. But nonetheless I have no control over the regulations. I was just given the paperwork yesterday which makes it official. I'm still in the military right now...I'll probably still be in for a month or two but it's inevitable that I'm getting out. I keep all my benefits and even get severance pay so I'm not freaking out or anything but I have to admit a little scared for the transition. I know God will guide me in the right direction though. In the meantime I plan to do online courses, and I'm looking into teaching, and or working part time at a scrapbook store. Also planning on teaching some online scrapbook courses since thats fun for me and can help financially :)
So anyways, thats the big news around here...
also took these pictures the other day over at Balboa Park:
And wanted to share this layout that I originally made for my book: "The Doodle Formula" that was a reject and didn't make it inside hehe.
and this one that DID make it in...it's my favorite :)
and yes...it's all pics of sweet Celine N. (shout out to you girl! hehe).
and lastly...
I made this mini album cover for a little project I want to do...an "all about me at 26" album. I know...they are so cliche but I've never done one of these and I want to remember all the experiences, feelings, aggrivations, dreams that I had when I'm old and gray :)
You see the flowers and the lacy ribbon?--they are the brand spankin new "Belle Fleur" line from Prima and you will flip when you see these in person! I also used some patterned papers, and the awesome Board Book by Urban Lily from the Urban Cut line, and the chipboard letters are from Prima Marketing as well.
Hugs, Adrienne

love love love all your art, including your photos. Beautiful job. Hope you are okay with getting booted out...it could be the best thing. Good luck.

Hey girl .. so wow the Navy is acting crazy huh, girl you have a BOOK out and you are more successful than anyone I know that is active duty and you DID IT ON YOUR OWN...I hate that weight rule, I mean it is not like we as women are built the same and yet we have to suffer from the same stupid rule for the freak'n skinny azz chicks out there, that can eat a popsicle and still lose weight..YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL and dont let the military tell you otherwise...I will still stand strong for now in the AF, but I am looking at getting out, cuz what I do in here I can make 6 figs a year on the outside..so girl BLOW UP and do what you do .. I will still love you .. SMOOCHES

Well, That is a dumb rule.
You can like cupcakes and still be a fabulous military woman!
I am glad they don't have this rule in teaching.
Anyway, I think teaching classes sounds fabulous.
They have a HUGE need for one in SYRACUSE NEW YORK.
You can fly here and you can even sleep at my house.
I promise not to stalk you too much and I will allow you 4 hours of sleep after we stay up all night and eat cupcakes and scrap.
XOX
Holly
PS
I'll send happy thoughts and wishes your way...

Gorgeous work Adrienne and the pictures are stunning. Stunning!
Good luck with your transition. I have been there in similar circumstances and it can be completely scary at times, but you know, it is funny, somehow, it all works out. You survive, you get through and you make due. And also, the direction you end up in is something way better than where you expected to be. Take heart and good luck!

Wow.... booted for 4% over in body fat? that's ridiculous. Do they give you an option to lose weight at all?
I'm sure it will all work out in the end though, you'll find something you can do that you love :) Speaking of things to do that you love.... I got your book in the mail today! It's GREAT so far! So stoked to keep reading and trying out my doodles :)
