luuurts of stuff

Todays word of the day is hauking which I learned yesterday meant to kind of bend down/squat in german ;) but I just like the way it sounds lol.

soooooo lots to share! First some photos. I'm not sure if I posted these already so I might be double posting lol. But these were also from the day that the avril lavigne concert was cancelled.

and I finally got a chance to take pictures of the layouts I did with the new Farmhouse collection at sis tv (see previous post for more info).

and more news with the papers I'm designing for Prima...they won't be out this CHA cycle but maybe a mid-release after, or possibly the next CHA after this one :) I'll post sneaks when I have them together :)

And more info to come, but I've had a lot of people ask when my next artistic edge class will be available and I have good news that the next class will be available for purchase within the next week at www.scrapinstyletv.com in their boutique under "fashionista university" :D

Lots of new stuff!

I know I've been MIA lately, but really it's all for good reasons. I have a lot of things to share...some of it is super big news and others are just fun things I'm working on :)

First, I have to say when I got the newest collection from sis tv I nearly died! I mean just look at all those delicious colors!!! I love this one...and I'm so excited to play with it!!! :D find it here: www.scrapinstyletv.com

And I got the Trendsetter collection with this one too...it was sent to the wrong address the first time so now I have to catch up with it all :)

One of the big reasons I've been MIA is that I'm trying to get back into the groove of working/vs. playing. I'm closer to my family now...so it's nice to just be able to go over there on any given day. I'm still trying to adjust to this whole new life I'm living. A new city, a new job, a new lifestyle, a whole new perspective on life. It's a lot to take in...but I'm really happy with everything :)

I'm starting to design papers again...and I can't really say much about it but you guys will flip when you see them...I'm SO excited about it!!! You just *might* see them at this next CHA in July if everything works out right :D

Prima has made the exciting decision to "go green" which means we are making a conscious effort in being more environmentaly savvy. Because of this...a lot of the packaging for Prima's products had to be re-designed to fit this new effort. So, if you are at CHA in July this year and you happen to stop by the Prima booth, if you like the new packaging don't be afraid to tell someone :) hehe cuz I designed it and it would be great to get some feedback :D

I have some HUUUUGE news to share!! A lot of you may know already that we have been waiting to hear back from Michaels about my book. My publisher had a meeting with the distributer back in October or November of last year and they proposed my book in the meeting. Michaels seemed to like it but nothing was a guarantee. There's usually a very long process to get your foot in the door with them...as you can only imagine so after the book came back from print, a couple copies were sent to Michaels for final review. This part can typically last anywhere from 6-12 months to hear back, and yesterday I found out the most amazing news!!! Michaels has decided to carry my book!!!! :D can you believe it? How insane is that?? I flipped when I heard the news...to think that a store I frequently shop in will carry something I made is beyond reality for me! So I think it will probably hit their shelves in July, and I'll definitely share some pictures of it when I see it at my local store :)

I also made this frame for my desk at prima

and it was Lucy Folch's bday a few days ago so I made her this little album that still needs to get sent out :)

welps...thats about everything going on right now. I plan to get some scrappin done this weekend so I'm excited for that. Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial day!!! Hugs, Adrienne

still here

I'm still here :) I've been swamped lately with lots of different things. Thank you all so much for the comments on the last post. It's nice to know others can relate...and I got some really great advice from you all. I think you all are absolutely right...even though all the changes are good and exciting, I'm sure my body regardless, is freaking out and would explain the extra emotion. I don't know why I didn't think about that...I guess because I never thought good things can stress someone out hahha. but anyways, I'll be back soon with lots of eye candy.

Oh, and I've had a few people ask--The next Artistic Edge class (the photoshop editing course) should start the first week in June...and will be available for purchase through scrap in style tv pretty soon--more details later.

new stuff

So yesterday  I'm editing photos and I turn to one of the music channels on tv and my jaw dropped on the floor. I had to completely stop what I was doing, put on my glasses and watch because one of the guys from the band looked EXACTLY like my ex husband. The funny thing was that my ex had been playing guitar for over 12 years so he was REALLY good at it...I mean GOOD. And he would always dream of playing in a band...he sure had the capability for it. Forget about singing, but the boy had skills when it came to guitar lol. and the band guy wasn't singing..he was only playing guitar and his facial expressions were like almost identical to what my ex did when he played. It was totally WEIRD! So anyways, I'm sitting there telling myself theres no way...it can't be him. Is it??? nahhhhhh...OMG it is!--noooo it can't be. This went on for a GOOD 10 minutes and I couldn't get a good enough look so I actually had to find the band on the internet to see more pictures which ended in the final determination that it wasn't him...but OMG can you imagine?? I was freaking out. Anyways, the band was called "all american rejects" or something like that. The name sounds familiar...they are probably popular lol. So that was the biggest event of my weekend lol..I know I live a very venturous and exciting life...who wants to come over???

So I did do a little creating. I actually kind of like the layouts for once lol. They are for a special thing that Prima is going to do soon so I used all prima stuff from the Odyssey line which is awesome and bright and makes me smile :)

and lately I've been kind of emotional. Its really weird because I normally can pinpoint why...ya know?--like something causing it. But I can't pinpoint it this time and it's driving me crazy. dude...it's bad...like anything will make me cry. and I've been feeling kind of bummed out everyday. Have you ever felt like that before??--I mean where you don't even have a CLUE why you are feeling that way? How did you get over it?

Off to get some sleep! I'm excited to see what the catwalk picks are tomorrow night at sis tv! OH and wish me luck...I'll be weighing in at weight watchers after work tomorrow. :)

avril lavigne

So yesterday I was supposed to go with my cousin and aunt to an avril lavigne concert...we were so excited!! The last time I went to a concert was when I was a teen so I totally got all dolled up so that we could take lots of pics...and then when we got there we were told it was cancelled! such a bummer. But that didn't stop us from still doing pics. We just went to the movies instead and saw made of honor--which is really cute :)

Some of my most fave Prima flowers right now...like I want to use them on every single layout. I swear this thing is more of an obsession...it can't be healthy haha.

and here is the official sneak peek of my upcoming class

recent layouts

My first couple days at Prima were pretty awesome. Actually kind of funny because there was one day that I needed to make a mini album for them to take to an event and so I started the project right away in the morning and towards lunch I kind of shook my head and thought to myself that I couldn't believe this is my job...this is what I absolutely love doing...and it's my job!! So I go to lunch and then find out that the album needed to be done that day--insert a very freaked adrienne because she only had like 2 pages front and back done at that point LOLLLL. But alas I finished it like a champ and felt like I owned the world (because you KNOW how it is when you totally complete a big album ya know??). And then....
then...
I find out we needed to make a few kits for the people to make a part of this album at the event...and they need to be done that day.
a few kits= 75 LOLLLLLLLLLLL.
Insert another freaked Adrienne

because dude it was only my second day and I certainly did not want to mess anything up ya know? I worked well under pressure, but at the end of the day I have to admit I was pretty exhausted and totally did a massive flop on the couch...I think I might have even bounced. But even in the most hectic most pressured situation...I still feel really lucky and priviladged to be working with them. Everyone is just so nice and welcoming, and the atmosphere though clearly busy--is still relaxed and grounded. I love it there! :D

the cutest story

In a zoo in California , a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.

The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused
the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate
another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.

After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there
were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only "orphans" that could be found quickly, were a litter of weanling pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in
tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops??
Take a look..
